The dramatic worldwide increase in the use of cell phones has a huge impact on our lives even though the first portable phone was introduced in the middle of the last century. In the past, people used letters to keep in touch with their friends and families in far places, and sending a letter takes months, but now they can make a call whenever they want with a minimum cost by using cell phones or accessing the internet though the cell phone itself. In the early days of cell phones, they were expensive and could be used only in certain areas due to the poor reception services. Today, they have become more reliable and of high quality due to the advances in wireless and satellite technology. However, the importance of cell phones goes way beyond making and receiving calls. Modern cell phones can be used in accessing the internet, sending and receiving data, using a cell phone as a calendar, checking for important emails, and sharing pictures and videos. Cell phones are considered a multipurpose device that can be used for hundreds of tasks in our daily life. In my opinion, people are discovering that cell phones can be turned from a basic cell phone to an efficient multipurpose tool, and the cell phone can be the Swiss army knife of all tasks.
